Food Therapy and Chinese Medicine
"We are what we eat."Over the years of Health Science and Medicine, we have started to recognise the food groups that we need to eat for a balanced diet. We have recognised the importance of vitamins and minerals, essential amino acids, fibre and now folic acid and probiotics. In Chinese Medicine, food are divided by the 5 elements and the yins and yans. It is consistent with Medical Science that balance is the key, if you have too much yin, you should balance it with more yan and if you have too much fire, you need a bit more water to balance it, etc. So, it is imperative that we recognise which food belongs to which group and their polarity. I can't say as webmaster that I know very much about the yins and yans, but Grace, our Chinese Medicine Therapist can provide you with that part of the education for your balanced good health.
